Thursday's jitters

I'm getting kind of nervous. I got a text today from one of the guys that's working on my power chair and he's indicated that they've restored the chair to its usability and will be bringing it by tomorrow around 3:00 in the afternoon. I'm nervous because I don't know how well they did and I just am cautious about seeing this chair and it not being at all what I need or want. But I got to give these guys the benefit of the doubt because they've done good work for me before and I think they really know what they're doing. Just nervous that I wasn't consulted more over the rebuild. Just so that you know that this is not the new chair that's supposed to be coming. I try not to think about this too much again it's another one of those situations where I've been told that it's time to finally do a new chair and in order to do so I have to jump through a number of Hoops the first hoop I've jumped through already that was meeting with the doc who then authorizes the chair. Next I have to go through the whole process of being measured for the chair it's quite a process actually a lot of measurements and discussion about just why I plan to use my chair for and how much I plan to use it all that kind of stuff. I do this if either a physical therapist or a occupational therapist and submit complicated. Again I have not been contacted by anybody with any Authority to let me know who and when I need to talk to a person for this next hoop to jump through. Tomorrow I'll make a note to myself to make some phone calls to find out just what I need to do next to get this process moving forward. I just don't want to be disappointed I have been disappointed so many times on this kind of stuff.

That's really got me sort of curious is that I've really began to get accustomed to the black chair or the backup chair that I'm using now. Is definitely not a chair that was made for me but I've gotten used to it to a point where now that they've worked on the batteries and put some good batteries in there I'm zooming everywhere and I want to zoom. Even my transfers into and out of bed I've gotten less difficult unless dangerous. Dressing is still a challenge but I can do it it takes time but I can do it the same way with getting ready for bed at night getting my shoes off and did my shorts that takes longer than it used to which is okay it's a bit frustrating sometimes sometimes it gets a little spooky when it really difficult to accomplish the task of getting naked but I've been able to do it now I know how to do it now and I don't know what's going to happen with this new chair or the rechair build the rebuild chair. I just have to be gracious and accept whatever he brings over and be willing to make comments if it doesn't look like it's going to be functional at all but I think it'll be okay it's just many things on my mind tonight….
