Trade Off's

OK the new chair aura has worn off, completely. I am now in the everyday use of he new chair and I am having major issues with the device. This morning I was almost ten minutes late getting to work because I was not readily able to transfer into my new power chair from my manual chair this morning to get to work. Transferring into the chair this weekend was not an issue—transferring was challenging but doable; however, this morning, even though I had enough time allocated, I was not able to transfer with speed or ease and because I have so much drag when I transfer I lost a lot of my pants too, which took a lot of time pulling the pants back on to an acceptable level. So cursing and swearing I finally did manage to get into my chair, pulled my great white coat on( which covered square feet of exposed flesh and drove my chair to work in the new fallen snow of Monday morning.

The speed at which I cruised to the train station was wonderful, and I have said it before, but I will et a lot of steal and plastic , to keep a chair as quick as this chair. When I did get to work, office staff surrounded my chair and gushed ad asked how I liked the new chair—and like an idiot I answered the truth, I am having a love hate relationship with my chair. Staff then began pointing out things, with the chair which just did not look right. The foot plate is too small( true my feet fall of the plate all the time). I seem to be sitting all “scrunched” up. True again, I have felt the seat is too narrow as well as the back rest and the backrest also inhibits my ability to reach over and grab hold, when I transfer into the power chair from my manual—the main reason I was so late today was not being able to slide over onto to the cushion. Then there are parts of the chair which do not work which should like the right side arm rest, the arm rest doe not lock in place as it should.

Staff brought all these items to my attention. If I m paying 20,000 for chair I should be a lot more happy with the device then I am seeming to be and thy are right. Randy my physical therapist who actually measured me an got the ball rolling for the new chair asked that I call him when the chair came in and how I was taking to the chair. I called Randy this morning and rehearsed some of these
issue to him and Randy was concerned enough to set up an appointment for me and my sales guy, Brent and himself for this Wednesday. I am really hoping these issues can be resolved readily and with little trauma. But as I said, I am willing to eat a lot of steal and plastic for this kinda of speed.
