Foo Foo Food

Of course of all the days the week for storm role in bringing with snow and rain and general and clemency that day would be today when I'm fortunate enough to have a meeting downtown. I was blessed however the rain and the snow had pretty much climaxed by the time I left for the bus. The day was chilly though slower my dickey hood, my new heavy hood and took off. I had time to the bus so I didn't have to wait long. I wasn't sure when admitted to the office but I knew I was traveling with decent time on my side. I would for sure have time to hit the pastry shop next to Assist, Inc..

One of the casualties of downtown Salt Lake of the Covid was the donut shop are used to drop in on before my Assist, Inc. meetings. I usually got a cup of coffee in five or six donut holes. But I guess they just couldn't tolerate the drop-off of customers. I can't remember the name of the outfit right now but it was a great place to kill time so I didn't have to hang around the Assist offices being in the way. The library was also another place I could hang out – – even buying some coffee there – – but it too has been shattered do the pandemic. However, referencing yesterday's blog, I noticed it is slowly waking up. You can now visit one section of the library. I didn't go in this morning but it doesn't look like any of the coffee shops or whatever are open for business probably just access to the stacks but it's a start. The huge beast shrugs. One thing I did find in the last couple weeks is that there's a little foo foo pastry shop next to Assist, Inc. seriously, French pastries. Is the kind of place where everything is pretty and everybody who is pretty was to go in there and buy something elegant. They have copy though expenses as hell $2.95 a cup similar to what you would pay at D's restaurant are Village In so I guess is the going rate of extortion for caffeine/controlled substance. Everything's dainty if you buy one of their little dainty delights the rapid up this goofy little cardboard box all folded in on itself like a European/origami nightmare. “One cookie or two”. They have all kinds of things though glazed croissants, chocolate éclairs and all kinds of what looks like cookies dipped in some sort of glaze all the stuff is too pretty to eat but I'm amazed at how many people go in and come out with their little foo foo boxes. Sometimes,, Jason the director next door actually buys a selection of goodies for the office usually on our meeting days. The treats are nice but I doubt that I would ever spend that kind of money even with my Stimulus check. I would rather purchase a dozen glazed donuts/éclairs/fritters etc. for the whole office than one or two foo foo cookies. One thing it's good these guys actually have an accessible bathroom that makes up for a ton of cookie sin…
